Delete your Kira account

You can request deletion of your Kira account and the data linked to it at any time. Because Kira holds your business's statutory tax records, deletion follows the retention rules described in our Privacy Policy.

Request deletion from the web

Sign in to your account and submit a deletion request:

Open the account deletion page

You will be asked to confirm your password before the request is recorded. Our team processes deletion requests within 30 days.

If you cannot sign in

Email support@getkira.io from the email address linked to your account. We may contact you to verify the request before acting on it.

What is deleted

Your user profile, login credentials and access to every workspace you belong to are removed. Business ledger data in workspaces that you own is handled under the retention rules of the Privacy Policy: a 60-day grace period applies after your subscription ends, after which ledger data is irrevocably destroyed.

Before you delete: your statutory duty

Under Section 82 of the Income Tax Act 1967, your business must keep its own tax records for 7 years. Export your records from the dashboard before requesting deletion, or use the Data Parking plan to keep your archives preserved at low cost while your subscription is paused.
